My Commitment To You
My Commitment To You
It’s vitally important that you are comfortable with the personality and style of your celebrant. It is your special day and I want to ensure that we get it right, after all we only get one shot at getting it right on the day!
I like to combine my compassionate care towards people, my genuine enjoyment of hearing peoples stories, my ability to add humour and empathy at the right moments and the satisfaction and rewarding feeling that comes from being a part of this special day to offer a service you will remember for ever.
With my creative imagination and speaking skills I can create a service designed around you, your values and your wishes. We do this together by sitting down and talking in a relaxed environment, offering up ideas and listening to your thoughts and then working together until the day of the ceremony itself to make sure its perfect for the occasion.
I was inspired to become a civil celebrant following twenty years of working in the funeral profession and spending ten years in Australia where over 70% of services are conducted by Civil Celebrants. Having seen my eldest daughter married by a Celebrant and playing a part in that wonderful, happy day it inspired me to embark on a new career where I could still play a part in the family funeral business and also play a part in helping people celebrate those special moments and create magical memories for themselves.
I have four fabulous grown up children who live in various pockets of the world and I myself am looking forward to getting married next year to my childhood sweetheart who I was lucky enough to be reunited with last year. I am the youngest of five siblings, three older sisters and an older brother, and we were blessed to have been brought up by our fabulous, loving parents. I have spent the majority of my life living in Spalding, apart from the ten years in Australia and enjoy the fact that despite the inevitable changes that come with any town of this size it still has it's charm, it's long standing family business', the characters of the market place and that sense of being "home" .
I have a genuine caring of people - I have always liked to be involved in professions that somehow allow me to engage with people in a caring, helpful and compassionate way. As well as being a part of the family funeral business for so many years, I have also worked in the aged care sector and the hospitality industry. I have Diplomas in Funeral Directing, Business Management and Finance and carried out my training in Civil Celebrancy with the Fellowship of Independent Civil Celebrants.
In my spare time I enjoy my sport, my eclectic taste in all genres of music, travelling to new destinations and trying out new culinary delights . I have a great sense of fun, am very sociable and love to arrange and be a part of events and gatherings.
As an independent civil celebrant I am here to help and advise you in any way I can. I am a dedicated professional with a wealth of experience in arranging and organising services to guide and assist you at this time.
My service and personal attention to you and your family is everything, I am trained to take unnecessary worry from you and to ensure that everything runs as smoothly as possible and is the memorable occasion you wish it to be.
Please do not hesitate to contact me, without any obligation, if you have any queries at all.
With all good wishes
Simon
